Approaching this project, I knew that I wanted to take a satyrical route. It’s finals week, we’re stressed, so of course I’m going to produce something that generates a little humor. I took a moment and thought some, and ultimately ended up wandering, “What is something that I could easily promote to the students of an art school?”
During times like this? Cigarettes, duh.
I questioned the idea for a bit and wandered weather or not this silly concept should be something that I put thoughtfulness behind. It was soon after this that the title for the painting and GFA group show as announced, “Smoke Break”. It gave me the chance to run with my original idea, and also promote the show that myself and many talented others will be apart of.
